Mr. Jon Gott of Wellington submitted a grant application through the Monsanto Company who sponsor a program called America’s Farmers Grow Communities. Because Lorain County was declared a disaster area in 2012 by the USDA due to the severe drought conditions Jon was able to select two non-profit organizations to each receive a $2,500 grant. Through Jon’s efforts the Friends of Lorain County Jr. Fair was selected and awarded a $2,500 grant. These funds will be added to our other fundraising income for the year to secure the 4-H program in Lorain County. Thank you Jon

We would like to thank everyone who helped and supported us in any way with the Matus Winery Fundraise Event. The evening was a great success. With cash donations we were able to raise $5,000. Our special thanks to Mr. Bob Matus and his staff for all their assistance.

Matus Winery Fundraising Event

Friends of Lorain County Junior Fair, in our ongoing efforts to raise the needed funds to ensure the continuation of the the 4-H program in Lorain County are hosting a Fundraising Wine Event at Matus Winery in Wakeman on Saturday May 11, 2013. Tickets are now on sale for $25 each and can be purchased from any board member. This is an adult event, age 21 and over only. Your ticket entitles you to a bottle of wine of your choice, appetizers and entertainment for the evening. Plan on joining us for an evening of fun with friends and help support the 4-H program in Lorain County.

We have provided a pamphlet on how to donate and a little bit about what we stand for. You can print this document and give it to as many people as you wish. We are currently trying to locate Lorain County 4-H and Junior Fair Alumni that may not know that we are at risk of losing the OSU Extension Office and thus Junior Fair in Lorain County.
